Grave Architecture
Automated 2-Channel 35mm Slide Installation, 98 Slides, 2 Slide Projectors, 2 Projection Screens, Digital Sequencer, Pedestal, 13:00 Minute Loop

Grave Architecture depicts an image of an abandoned subdivision from every US State (except Hawaii) paired with each image’s location and date. These images were captured in the aftermath of the 2008 economic recession and visualize the often abstract nature of global economics onto the everyday landscape. A automated sequencer is programmed to periodically shift image-pairings out-of-sync; highlighting the irrelevance of distance, geography, borders, and people in relation to the democratic, sweeping, and instantaneous nature of widespread economic collapse.
